Purging old backup jobs

In online Backup, space equals money, therefore Genie Online Backup Service enables its users via Genie client the ability to delete old backup jobs depending on the number of runs or the time period specified by the user.

With compression a user can save space and on the storage quota, thanks to our enhanced 64-bit zip engine, this also enables Backup Files as large as 8 Terra Bytes.

Online Backup Service + Online Storage (My Vault)

Not only Genie Online Service is used for backup but also it can be used as online storage via My Vault. The user can send personal files via Genie emailing system, organize files/folders by creating new folders, delete, cut, copy, and paste to different locations in the vault. In addition to that, there is no limit on the file size being uploaded; a single file can be as big as you want it to be.

AES (128,192, and 256) Encryption

Security is a main concern when storing data in a remote location, with Genie online there shouldn’t be since Genie Client uses AES encryption to protect backed up data privacy. AES is the Advanced Encryption Standard (also known as Rijndael). This encryption method, has been adopted by NIST as an FIPS-approved (Federal Information Processing Standard) symmetric encryption algorithm that may be used by U.S. Government organizations (and others) to protect sensitive information

Secure Data Transfer via 128-SSL:

Hackers and eavesdroppers can easily tamper with data transferred the internet, but with Genie Online service this has changes since what is used is a 128 bit Secure Socket Layer that keeps the unwanted eavesdroppers and hackers away from your data.

File Access Manager:

Workgroups for Server and Workgroup Plans:

With our service, there is no need to purchase a separate account for each employee in the company; we offer workgroups where you can create accounts and manage users. In addition to that, this enables the workers to perform file/folder sharing between the other members of the workgroup as if you are sharing files/folders over a LAN.

CPU Management*

CPU Management allows you to select what CPU(s) Genie Backup Manager Server can use while running.
If you notice that Genie Backup Manager Server uses CPUs a lot, you can limit its execution to only one processor for example. To do this, select/deselect desired processor(s) with checkboxes in the dialog. Execution of GBM Server on all non-selected CPUs will be disabled.

File Filtering

Users can filter selected files in My Folders using filename masks, for instance users can choose to backup only .doc files in a certain folder or exclude all .exe files from another.

Schedule Backups to Run Unattended

Backing up data can take a lot of time depending on the size of the data intended for backup, during which a big part of the machine's resources are consumed. To avoid interrupting work or slowing down the machine while it is being actively used, users can schedule unattended backup tasks to run at times that guarantee no interruptions to their work. Scheduling also serves as a way to insure that the data is being backed up on a regular basis without user interaction

Email Notifications of Performed Backups

E-mail notification is a nifty feature that enables GBM Pro to send to the user information about the status of the performed backup upon its completion via email.

If you are a network administrator who is always on the move, and you've scheduled backup jobs to run while you're away but still need to make sure everything goes smoothly then email notification is the feature you need.

Cataloging

The catalog is a library containing a history of backup jobs and the files contained in each backup run. With this feature users can keep track of file versions and run, view and extract files directly from the backup set without going through the restore wizard

Pre and Post Job Commands

With Genie Online Client and Genie Backup Manager Server, you can execute commands before and after a backup task. Use this feature to scan output backup files for viruses, run backup tasks in sequence, and much more.
